Deshpande Startups, an initiative by Deshpande Foundation, works to build an ecosystem to promote social entrepreneurship and community development in Karnataka. It serves as a platform to enable problem solvers to test their ideas without the fear of failure. Solutions tend to come from where the problems are and hence, a robust ecosystem to test ideas in real-time scenario is central to Deshpande Startups. It is one of India’s early incubators with a focus on supporting impactful entrepreneurs in tier-2 and tier-3 cities and is modelled in such a way that it brings entrepreneurial ideas to reality in semi-urban areas.

This year, Deshpande Startups  is organizing ‘Pitch Your Idea’ on Oct 15, at Hubballi. The event will provide budding entrepreneurs an exclusive opportunity to pitch and win incubation support for their startup ideas. The event is open for aspiring entrepreneurs from semi-urban areas and tier-2 cities across Karnataka.

What the winners will get

Passionate individuals who have innovative ideas to solve the problem of a community or an industry can participate in the event and present their ideas. The ideas chosen will receive all necessary support provided by Deshpande Startups including seed funding, mentorship, office infrastructure, networking opportunities. The entrepreneurs will also get access to a world-class mentor network comprising marquee business leaders.      

‘Pitch Your Idea’ competition will begin with a 12-minute pitch presentation by the candidates. This will include the presentation of business ideas to the panelists followed by a question and answer session. The panelists include the likes of Naveen Jha (CEO, Deshpande Foundation), C. M. Patil (Chief Executive, Deshpande Startups), and Sunil (CTO, Deshpande Foundation) among others.
