Deshpande Foundation partners with Government of Karnataka in high-impact Elevate 100 startup incubation program

Deshpande Foundation, with its remarkable record of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship over the last decade was chosen as a Knowledge Partner in the Karnataka Government’s ambitious Elevate 100 program.

To quote from their website: “ELEVATE 100, an initiative of the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology, Government of Karnataka aims to provide a comprehensive entrepreneurship platform for startups. The top 100 technology based startups chosen through a rigorous hunt across Karnataka State will tap into a whopping sum of Rs.400 Cr of Government funds. ELEVATE 100 has more than just funds to offer to every startup. Opportunities to meet and learn from world class mentors, showcase products to the top Angel Investors & VCs, Business Leaders, and Technology experts and be inspired by ‘Elevate Talks’ by industry experts to capture emerging trends.”

Entrepreneurs gathered to Pitch their ideas at the Elevate 100 Pitch event

A series of Pitch events will be held across Hubballi, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kalburgi and Mangaluru. Deshpande Foundation’s Deshpande Startups will host the events at Kalburgi and Hubballi. The Kalburgi event was held on July 30th, 2017 at Grand Hotel where 27 startups pitched their ideas to a Jury of 4 eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds. Entrepreneurs from the North Karnataka districts of Raichur, Kalburgi, Bagalkot and Bijapur presented their startup ideas which were primarily in technology application software and products. Officials from the Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS) represented the state Government.

The Hubballi Pitch event is scheduled for August 4th and 5th at the Dennisson’s Hotel.

This is just one of the events conducted by Deshpande Startups as they strive to support changemakers in North Karnataka. In a major boost to entrepreneurs, they are setting up India’s largest incubation facility, spread over 81,000 sq.ft. of futuristic infrastructure including a cutting edge Maker’s Lab and Prototyping Space. The facility is all set to open in December this year.
